Bravery awards are meant for recognizing those who have braved the adverse situations to for the benefit of others. This award encourages them and makes them feel honored. The award winners set examples for the society thus encourage others to be brave and contribute for the society and country.
This SINGER-Channel-I Bravery Award will be awarded to 5 individuals each year – one civilian and one policeman under Physical Bravery Award category, one under Social Bravery Award category, one under Mind of Steel Award category and one under Lifetime Achievement Award for Social Service category. In Bangladesh there is no such award for civilians. SINGER-Channel I will recognize one deserving individual from each category every year for his bravery.
Singer & Channel I along with the assistance of qualified personnel will be very judicious in selecting the winners for this award. Such recognition of truly brave people will encourage others in the society. This award was introduced in 2011 and will be awarded every year.
AWARD MONEY & OTHERS: Each of the award winners will be receiving Taka Two Lac each along with a crest.
TIMEFRAME FOR ELIGIBILITY: Act of braveries that has taken place anytime in between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2011 will qualify for this award in 2011.
THE SELECTION PROCESS:
1st STEP: Advertisements in leading dailies, TV channels, radio stations and billboards will promote the invitation of application/story/information from across the country. Besides, special banners, leaflets and application forms at all SINGER Plus outlets along with this website and special group on facebook will support the campaign for one month which was launched through a press conference on August 28, 2012.
Applications/stories/information can be sent through letters, email and phone calls. Website and the facebook groups will also be
an option for applicants and informers. Application forms filled up at all

2nd STEP: A committee comprising representatives from SINGER & Channel-i, and other qualified personnel will go through each and every application/story/information and make an initial shortlist for all the categories. The committee will be called the Initial Screening Committee. The committee will cross verify the short listed stories..
3rd STEP: A jury board comprising respected and qualified citizens of the country will be formed. The jury board y will review the applications and stories. They will ask for more detail about any of the short listed cases and ultimately they will make a shorter list from the initial one.
4th STEP: The jury will sit with the detail finding of the short-listed candidates by the investigation team. They can ask for further verification and detail of specific cases if they feel. They will sit for few sessions for finalizing the winners.
5th AND FINAL STEP: The award will be handed over to the winners at a Grand Ceremony which will be telecasted live in Channel-i.
